Former Germany manager Joachim Low is keen on the England job after Gareth Southgate’s resignation, according to a report.

WHAT HAPPENED?

According to The Sun, Low would welcome an approach from the FA as they seek a successor to Southgate. The 64-year-old left his role as Germany manager in 2021 after England knocked them out of the European Championship at the round-of-16 stage at Wembley.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Low, of course, won the World Cup in 2014, and he would be happy to speak to the FA about attempting to lead the Three Lions to their first trophy since 1966. Southgate guided England to two successive European Championship finals but was unable to get over the line, and resigned earlier this week.

England have already been linked with a number of potential candidates. Pep Guardiola has been identified as a possible marquee appointment, while there is also interest in Eddie Howe and Graham Potter.
