What You Missed During the Golden Globes 2025 Live Broadcast: Zendaya’s Quick Change, Kieran’s Kiss and More
The 82nd annual Golden Globes were broadcast live from The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on CBS and Paramount+
The 2025 Golden Globes was a night to remember!
This first award show of the season saw Shōgun and Emilia Pérez win big, while host Nikki Glaser — who rehearsed the monologue 93 times — poked fun at Diddy’s freak-offs, the Wicked press tour, and Selena Gomez’s recent engagement during the show’s opening.
It was a family affair for many stars including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who brought his oldest daughter Simone Johnson, as well as Dakota Fanning and sister Elle Fanning, who got ready for the big night with their grandmother.
Timothée Chalamet and girlfriend Kylie Jenner also stepped for a date night at the awards ceremony, where he was up for best performance by a male actor in a motion picture for his performance in A Complete Unknown. Double nominee Selena Gomez was joined by her fiancé Benny Blanco after the pair announced their engagement last month.
Here’s a breakdown of what you didn’t see on TV at this year’s Golden Globe Awards.
Minutes into the show, Zendaya made a quick change from her dramatic custom burnt orange satin gown from Louis Vuitton — with matching pointed-toe pump — to a slinky bedazzled dress, posing with The Bear‘s Ayo Edebiri.
Meanwhile, Jenner, 27, and her seatmate Elle Fanning, 26, seemed friendly and chatted with each other while Chalamet, 29, talked with another attendee. Elle was also seen whipping her hands in a circle to the music during the awards ceremony.
Zoë Kravitz also made the most of the night when she greeted Angelina Jolie, who was nominated for best performance by a female actor in a motion picture – drama for her role in Maria. The pair kissed and hugged each other.
Cara Delevingne and Keleigh Sperry were seen excitedly chatting at the bar inside the show.
Emma Stone — who debuted her new pixie cut for the first time on the red carpet — was eager to indulge when someone told her that sushi was available in the next room over. She joked, “I’m gonna be a seal, I’m gonna be a seal.”
Midway through the ceremony, Gomez, 32, sat with her Only Murders in the Building costar Martin Short during a commercial and sweetly tapped him on the back.
Meanwhile, Baby Reindeer’s Jessica Gunning gushed about Kathy Bates during a commercial break, telling PEOPLE, “She’s one of my idols. It’s amazing.”
Naomi Watts got a helping hand from husband Billy Crudup with her dress as she reapplied her red lipstick in the mirrored room outside the bathroom.
Jake Gyllenhaal and his girlfriend Jeanne Cadieu greeted Jesse Plemons. As fans may recall, Gyllenhaal, 44, dated Plemons’ wife Kirsten Dunst from 2002 to 2004.
Later in the show, Jolie, 49, and her daughter Zahara, 19, appeared very in sync as they waited for a commercial break to return to their seats.
Backstage, it was all about the bromances. Adam Brody received a kiss on the cheek from Dax Shepard, who is, of course, the husband of his Nobody Wants This costar Kristen Bell.
Anthony Mackie also gave his The Falcon and the Winter Soldier costar Sebastian Stan a hug to celebrate his win for best performance by a male actor in a motion picture for his role in A Different Man.
Kieran Culkin, who took home the prize for best performance by an actor in a supporting role in a motion picture for his role as Benji Kaplan in A Real Pain, kissed his wife Jazz Charton in the press room as he held his trophy.
The night wouldn’t have been complete with a Succession reunion. Culkin was also spotted greeting his former costar Jeremy Strong with a hug during the ceremony.
Before the end of the night, Adam Sandler asked wife Jackie during commercial break, “You’re having a good night, right?” while his Hotel Transylvania costar Gomez sang “Good for You” to Blanco as she held up her hand during the marquise diamond line.
Zendaya — who was wearing an eyebrow-raising diamond of her own — also gave Chalamet and Jenner a hug before the night was over.
