Selena Gomez Takes the Plunge in Beaded Silver Gown to Celebrate Her First Nomination at 2025 BAFTAs

Selena Gomez is harnessing her star power at the 2025 BAFTAs.

On Feb. 16, the actress, 32, appeared at the London event in a plunging black and silver gown. Gomez wore a custom beaded silver gown with a black off-the-shoulder bodice by Schiaparelli. The dress draped over her body, covered in silver sequins, crystals, rhinestones and tassels for a “vibrating” effect, per a press release from the house.

She completed the look with black heels and even more sparkle with her Tiffany & Co. jewels, including earrings and two bracelets from the Tiffany & Co. archives. Gomez also wore an 18k white gold ring with a diamond of over 10 carats. She wore her hair slicked back to let her dress be the star of her look.

Hosted by David Tennant, the 2025 BAFTA Awards are taking place at the Royal Festival Hall in London. While speaking to red carpet preshow host Clara Amfo, Gomez gushed over how excited she was to earn her first-ever BAFTA nomination and also told Amfo she “wouldn’t say no” to more musicals like Emilia Pérez in the future.

At the awards ceremony, which celebrates excellence in film, Gomez is nominated for supporting actress for her role in Emilia Pérez. Also nominated are Isabella Rossellini for Conclave, Zoe Saldaña for Emilia Pérez, Felicity Jones for The Brutalist, Jamie Lee Curtis for The Last Showgirl and Ariana Grande for Wicked.

Gomez has had quite the eventful awards season. The star was nominated as part of the ensemble casts of both Emilia Pérez and her Hulu series Only Murders in the Building at the Golden Globes. At the Cannes Film Festival in May 2024, she won the best actress prize jointly with costars Saldaña and Gascón.

Her recent accolades have come along with some standout red carpet moments. She kicked off awards season in January in an all-white Ralph Lauren suit at the 36th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards.

At the 2025 Golden Globes on Jan. 5, the Disney alum looked like a princess in a custom Prada off-the-shoulder gown in a shade of light blue. Along with an eye-catching diamond necklace and stud earrings by Tiffany & Co., Gomez also took the opportunity to show off her dazzling marquise engagement ring from Benny Blanco.

The couple, who got engaged in December, didn’t walk the Globes carpet together but showed some PDA inside the Beverly Hilton. At one point during host Nikki Glaser’s opening monologue, Blanco gave his wife-to-be some shoulder kisses. The sweet moment was captured during the aired ceremony on CBS.

After the Golden Globes nominations were announced live on Dec. 9, Gomez shared a video of her gasping and covering her face in response to hearing her name called.

“I don’t even know what to write. I’m so proud of @zoesaldana and I am so grateful and honored @goldenglobes,” she captioned the video, shouting out her costar and fellow nominee.

In the musical drama Emilia Pérez, Gomez plays Jessi, the devoted wife of Mexican drug lord Juan “Manitas” Del Monte (Karla Sofía Gascón), who has privately identified as female.
