Salma Hayek stepped out for a glamorous night ahead of the 60th Venice Biennale with her husband, François-Henri Pinault. She also brought along her stepdaughter, Mathilde Pinault, because two dates are better than one!
On April 17, the actress, 57, turned the Fondazione Cini, Isola Di San Giorgio gala dinner into a family affair with the Pinaults by her side.
The House of Gucci star lit up the event in an ultramarine blue strapless gown accentuating her curves and décolletage. Sequins covered the entire design from the sweetheart neckline to the fringe skirt hem, which revealed her sky-high platform heels. She accessorized with a petite handbag.
Hayek’s glam included a mauve smokey eye and peachy nude lip, which all the more emphasized her picture-perfect curls and eye-popping styling.
Mathilde, 23, whom François-Henri shares with his ex-wife Dorothée Lepère, followed in her stepmom’s footsteps in the fashion department.
The model and Kering heiress dazzled in a strapless sequin gown of her own, in silver fringe. The design also had a subtler fringe hem and straight neckline. She wore her hair in a loose braid that she tossed to the side to display her enormous pearl drop earrings.
During the evening, François-Henri also posed for a few photos with his girls. He wore a classic black suit to the buzzing event.
Hayek became a stepmom to Mathilde and her two brothers, François and Augustin Pinault, when she and François-Henri wed in 2009.
“I always wanted to have a lot of children, and I was not able to. My body, as a miracle, had one,” the Frida star told Red magazine in 2017. “The huge blessing I’ve had is that my husband has three other children. So I have four. And they are all so different.”
Hayek’s fourth would be her daughter, Valentina Paloma Pinault, who the couple welcomed in September 2007 and is now 16.
The mother-daughter duo seldom make public red carpet appearances together. However, they made a splash at the 2023 Oscars, where they twinned in red — Hayek in Gucci and her mini-me in her mom’s vintage Isaac Mizrahi gown that she wore in 1997.
Mathilde has previously opened up about her bond with Hayek, telling Paris Match once that the actress “has a flame that soothes me.” She’s also learned a lot from Hayek personally and professionally. “I have already accompanied her on film shoots,” she said. “I was able to observe how she managed her schedule, how she learned her lines at night. She guides me in a very pragmatic way to face difficulty after difficulty.”
