Robert De Niro and Tiffany Chen have been romantically linked since August 2021. The pair share one-year-old daughter Gia Virginia Chen De Niro
Robert De Niro and Tiffany Chen are supporting their friend’s new movie.
On Monday, Sept. 23, De Niro, 81, and his partner Chen attended a special screening of Francis Ford Coppola’s new movie Megalopolis in New York City. The couple, who share one-year-old daughter Gia, smiled and held hands as they walked the red carpet for the movie’s premiere.
While De Niro does not star in Megalopolis, his friendship with filmmaker Coppola, 85, dates back to the pair’s collaboration together on 1974’s The Godfather Part II, in which De Niro famously played a younger version of Marlon Brando’s Godfather character.
De Niro, Coppola and Spike Lee appeared for a short question-and-answer session prior to Monday’s screening of Coppola’s new movie, which stars Adam Driver, Aubrey Plaza, Giancarlo Esposito, Laurence Fishburne, Jon Voight, Grace VanderWaal, Shia LaBeouf and Dustin Hoffman in an ensemble cast.
De Niro and Chen’s date night at the premiere comes just over a month after De Niro marked his 81st birthday on Aug. 17. The two-time Academy Award winner and Chen first met in 2015 on the set of his movie The Intern, but they were not publicly romantically linked until August 2021, when they were seen vacationing together in France.
De Niro and Chen share one daughter, Gia Virginia Chen De Niro, whom they welcomed on April 6, 2023. The Killers of the Flower Moon actor also has six older children. He and his first wife Diahnne Abbott share daughter Drena, 56, and son Raphael, 47. In 1995, he welcomed twin sons Julian and Aaron, 28, with his former girlfriend, model and actress Toukie Smith. He also shares son Elliot, 26, and daughter Helen Grace, 12, with his ex-wife Grace Hightower.
De Niro last appeared on the big screen in this year’sEzra, directed by Tony Goldwyn. He also recently appeared in the Argentine streaming series Nada.
Coppola’s new movie Megalopolis premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May; it releases in theaters Sept. 27.
