Patrick Mahomes is “back home” in Texas!
On Tuesday, Feb. 24, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, 29, and his wife Brittany headed to Lubbock to watch his old college basketball team, the Texas Tech Red Raiders take on the Houston Cougars at United Supermarkets Arena.
Though he may have left Texas Tech after his junior year to start playing football professionally, the college crowd was delighted to see their alma mater.
Dressed in “Raider’s Red” and black, and sporting a letterman jacket, Patrick hyped up the crowd from courtside, waving his arms in the air and getting everyone excited for the game in a video shared on his Instagram.
Mom of three Brittany, also 29, opted for red and black too — and looked delighted at the huge cheers the crowd gave her man.
In August, Texas Tech Athletics announced that Patrick and Brittany had pledged a $5 million donation to the South End Zone and Dustin R. Womble Football Center project. To thank the star for his generous gift, Texas Tech said a walkthrough area in the soon-to-be-completed Womble Football Center would be named after him.

In 2022, Patrick was inducted into the university’s Hall of Fame and Ring of Honor, becoming only the eighth member in the school’s history to join the prestigious Ring.
Brittany, who was pregnant with their second child at the time, honored his achievement on Instagram, posting: “The best day, honoring the best guy. So proud of you!” adding one red and one black heart — the Red Raiders’ school colors.
Patrick isn’t the only fitness fan in the Mahomes family. Although she only welcomed her third baby, Golden Raye, in January, the Kansas City Current co-owner is already back in the gym. On Monday, Feb. 24, Brittany shared an Instagram Stories post showing some weights with the motivational slogan, “You will pass out before you die.”

Brittany didn’t slow out her impressive workout regime through pregnancy and frequently shared insights into her gym schedule. Back in November, she posted a video on her Instagram Stories of herself doing squats during a vigorous exercise routine while displaying her baby bump in workout gear.
“Happy Friday! Still squatting my life away🙂,” Brittany wrote over the clip. “Get ya movement in today🔥.”
