WHAT HAPPENED?

Per The Sun, The Red Devils have offered a deal to 17-year-old Australian wing-back Overy who, along with his family, is currently looking for a home in the Cheshire suburb. However, the English giants are now unable to register the player as FIFA and the Premier League are investigating the move.

The report further states that the teenager joined non-league club Newton Abbot Spurs in March this year and under FIFA’s bridge transfer guidelines he will not be allowed to join any other club before completing 16 weeks. United reportedly approached the player and tried to sign him within that period and as a result, the agreement between the two parties is currently being delayed.

Overy previously played for Perth Glory’s U21 side before relocating to England from Down Under along with his family. Other than United, Premier League clubs including Everton and West Ham had also shown interest in the player.
