Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign‘s alliance has been marred by technical difficulties from the start, and now their debut album has disappeared from a major streaming platform.

On Thursday (July 11), Vultures 1 was mysteriously removed from Spotify, with no explanation from either the streaming giant or the artists themselves.

The move was met with shock and disappointment among Ye and Ty’s fans, with one writing on social media: “WHAAAT.”

Another said: “I was literally listening to burn otw to the gym and tried listening going back home and it’s gone Wtf.”

Others, however, were less surprised: “This is why I copped the vinyl. I knew ye would eventually start to remove it from platforms. Surprised he hasn’t started to remove his [discography] off the web.”

The removal of Vultures 1 appeared to be a mere glitch, however, as the album was reinstated on Spotify a few hours later.

The news comes shortly after Kanye West appeared to announce that he was “retiring from professional music.”

His apparent decision was revealed in a text message to Rich The Kid that was shared on social media by the “Plug Walk” rapper.

This, too, appeared to be a false alarm as Rich later deleted his post and revealed the tracklist and updated release for his new album Life’s a Gamble, seemingly using Ye’s “retirement” to drum up publicity for his project.

It also follows a notoriously turbulent rollout for Vultures 1 since its release in early February.

The song “Good (Don’t Die)” was originally released as part of the bundle but was subsequently removed from streaming services due to a dispute over its sample of Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love.”

The estate of the late singer filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Ye and Ty Dolla $ign in late February, accusing the duo of using the 1977 disco hit without permission.

The involved parties eventually reached an undisclosed settlement and the lawsuit was dismissed without prejudice.

However, even after the temporarily removal of Vultures 1, “Good (Don’t Die)” remains unavailable on Spotify, Apple Music and other major streaming platforms.
