Jennifer Lopez ‘Always Has Good Attitude Even When Things Are Not Perfect’ as She and Ben Affleck Spend Summer Apart: Source

Jennifer Lopez is still enjoying a “good summer” as she looks forward to “what’s next.”

“Considering everything that’s going on, Jennifer is having a good summer. She’s been off and able to focus on what’s next,” a source exclusively tells PEOPLE.

The insider explains that the Atlas star, 55, “hasn’t seen Ben [Affleck] for weeks,” adding that Lopez and her husband are “moving on separately” amid a strain in their marriage.

“Jennifer is trying to find a new home to start fresh,” says the source. “She always has [a] good attitude even when things are not perfect.”

Lopez has resumed the search for a home in L.A., following her extended stay in the Hamptons and a vacation in Europe before that.

A source told PEOPLE she recently looked at a home in Beverly Hills that is “truly exceptional.” It’s an “ideal setting for those seeking seclusion,” the source said of the listing.

Lopez has been quietly “looking on and off” for a new home, and toured another home in May and previously viewed properties that were not officially on the market.

PEOPLE confirmed that Affleck, 51, had finalized the purchase of a new $20.5 million property on July 24. The same day, Lopez finalized the sale of her New York City condo — and also celebrated her 55th birthday.

Meanwhile, the couple have been trying to sell the Beverly Hills mansion they’ve shared since purchasing it for just under $61 million in May 2023.

Amid their separate house hunting, a source told PEOPLE in June that the pair didn’t “have any summer plans together” and were “focused on their separate lives.”

The Air star spent the bulk of his summer in Los Angeles as he worked on the upcoming sequel The Accountant 2 and spent time with his kids. Affleck shares Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with ex Jennifer Garner.

Meanwhile, Lopez vacationed with friends in Italy and spent time in the Hamptons with her twins Emme and Max, 16, whom she shares with ex Marc Anthony, as well as with her stepdaughter, Violet. The actress also celebrated her birthday in the Hamptons with a Bridgerton-themed birthday bash — which Affleck did not attend.
