Charli xcx Brings Out Lorde as Surprise Guest During N.Y.C. Sweat Tour with Troye Sivan
Addison Rae also performed her single “Diet Pepsi” with Charli and Sivan
Charli xcx brought out all the “good ones” at the New York City Sweat Tour.
On Sept. 24, the pop star, 32, had a few surprises in store for fans who attended her joint tour with co-headliner Troye Sivan at Madison Square Garden.
After singing her track “Spring Breakers,” the overhead lights panned to a white billboard where Addison Rae appeared in a white bra top and skirt and made her live performance debut of “Diet Pepsi.” When she reached the chorus, Charli and Sivan, 29, joined her to sing some of the lyrics, per fan-captured footage.
The beauty mogul, 23, then performed “Von Dutch” (A.G. Cook Remix) with Charli.
But the “Boys” musician wasn’t done with shocking her fans.
Charli then performed her track “Girl, so confusing,” which was actually the remix. Near the end of the track, Lorde appeared on stage to sing her verse with the “Vroom Vroom” artist, per fan-captured footage.
There was also another surprise guest at the show — Kelley Heyer, who created the viral “Apple” dance appeared on the big screen to showcase her signature dance moves in a brat-emblazoned skirt. for the entire arena
Charli and Sivan — who collaborated on “1999” and “2099” off the 2019 album Charli — are currently in the midst of the Sweat Tour, performing at a handful of arenas across the U.S. and Canada this fall.
On Sept. 12, the “Sympathy is a Knife” singer also dropped her remix of “Talk Talk,” featuring the “Rush” singer. On the track, which arrived two days before the hitmakers kicked off the Sweat Tour in Detroit, Charli and Sivan are looking to make some steamy hookup plans.
The song also features a cameo appearance from Dua Lipa, who can be heard speaking Spanish and French, respectively, at the start and end of the track in a nod to the original song’s lyrics. (“Talk to me in French / Talk to me in Spanish / Talk to me in your own made-up language / Doesn’t matter if I understand It,” sings Charli.)
In addition to the remix release, Charli announced Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat, a reimagined version of her latest LP featuring the entire original tracklisting, three deluxe edition songs and many remixes including “Talk Talk” with Sivan, “360” with Robyn and Yung Lean, “Von Dutch” with A.G. Cook and , “Girl, So Confusing” with Lorde and “Guess” with Billie Eilish.
Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat is due Oct. 11.
