Antonio Banderas is a proud father of the bride!
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE tied to his new Super Bowl commercial for Bosch, the actor, 64, shared his excitement over his daughter Stella Banderas’ upcoming wedding — and gave a ringing endorsement of the groom.
“It’s just great. I feel great for her,” Antonio says of 28-year-old Stella’s soon-to-be married status.
“The only thing that I want if my daughter got into a relationship and now into a marriage is that she’s loved. Everything else is I don’t care,” he continues. “And she is loved and I love the man that she decided to get married with. So I am very, very happy for both of them.”

Stella, whom Antonio shares with ex-wife Melanie Griffith, got engaged to entrepreneur Alex Gruszynski in August 2024. She revealed the happy news on Instagram, posting a carousel of photos, which kicked off with a shot of her fiancé lying on a picnic blanket in the grass as she held her hand in front of him to show off her sparkling engagement ring.
“I get to hang out with my favorite person on earth forever!!!!!!!!” she captioned the post.
The carousel also included throwback photos of the couple — who have known each other since early childhood — as young kids and teens.
Griffith, 67, also shared her joy about the engagement on Instagram at the time, posting a series of black-and-white photos of Stella and Gruszynski, who is the co-founder and CEO of NOVA, a marketplace for creative freelancers.

“He asked…. On bended knee… she said yes ♥️. Stella and Alex are engaged to be married ♥️,” the Working Girl star wrote. “Their love story began in pre-school! True love, deep love! Congratulations to the beloveds!!! ♥️💥♥️💫♥️.”
Elsewhere in his conversation with PEOPLE, Antonio shared how Stella opened her home to her mother earlier this month after she and other members of her family were ordered to evacuate amid the devastating fires in Los Angeles.
“I talk all the time with my daughter Stella. I continue doing it and I know everybody’s fine,” the Babygirl star says. “I know that Melanie was at some point, the whole entire area where she lives, they got the evacuation. And so her, my ex mother-in-law, some friends of my daughter, they were all living with my daughter because she was in an area that was not [affected].”

Stella is close with both of her parents, and has even collaborated with them on several projects over the years. She worked as second assistant director for her dad’s Spanish-language production of the musical Company, which he directed and starred in beginning in November 2021. That same year, Stella appeared alongside her mom in a short film for Vogue and luxury jewelry brand Bulgari.
At the time, Griffith reflected on the experience of getting to witness her daughter grow up and bloom into a “brave” and confident person. “I’ve watched her go from being this, at times, scared little girl afraid to go to a new school, turn into this amazing woman who’s launching her own business, doing so many different things, and just being so brave,” the actress told Vogue, joking, “And opinionated.”

Bosch’s Big Game ad will air during the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9. The game itself will broadcast on Fox and stream on Tubi.
