Rihanna should receive a gold medal for her photoshopping skills after the hilarious move she pulled with Fenty Beauty’s latest campaign.
On July 18, the “Lift Me Up” singer revealed on Instagram that her beauty brand is an official partner of the Paris Summer Olympics, beginning July 26, and the following Paralympics, which will start Aug. 28.
To announce the news, the mom of two, 36, shared a photo of her and a tube of Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer, edited with arms stick figure-style, holding hands as they share a romantic moment in front of the Eiffel Tower (because nothing comes in between Rihanna and her favorite gloss).
There was something oddly familiar with the photoshopped image though, and an eagle-eyed fan quickly clocked the hidden joke.
One user on X (formerly known as Twitter) posted a side-by-side of the Fenty Beauty advertisement with the original photo, which actually featured the Grammy winner’s longtime partner, A$AP Rocky, and was taken by photographer Tiziano D. on the couple’s date outing in Paris back in June.
“I bet A$AP said something about Fenty Music and so got removed from the pic. I want a gloss bomb partner too!” one fan commented under the edited photo on Instagram.
Fenty Beauty’s new initiative continues the company’s “commitment to promoting inclusivity and celebrating diversity at one of the world’s largest sporting events.”
As a part of the partnership, the brand will be providing makeup kits to 600 volunteers aged 18-21 years old who will be presenting medals to the Olympic and Paralympic athletes. They will also receive training on how to achieve the Ceremony of Victories look and outfits designed by LVMH.
“I want everyone to feel beautiful, recognized and empowered, no matter their ethnicity, culture, skin tone or style,” Rihanna shared.
As fans patiently wait for Rihanna to drop new music they have had Fenty Beauty drops to keep them company.
Back in June, the brand launched a new line of hair care products under Fenty Hair, which Rihanna has been working on for four years.
“Evolving as a woman and even as an artist, hair has been such a huge part of that and a reflection of whatever I’m feeling. So, it changes a lot and my hair goes through a lot. Making this brand, I had to consider all of those things. I want to look fly, but I want my hair to be healthy. How do I do that? All of my products need to strengthen and repair while I’m out just being fabulous,” Rihanna said during a speech made at the June 10 launch party.
