Travis Kelce Sees Taylor Swift Perform for 13th Time Just Before He Reports for Training Camp
The Chiefs star was spotted in a private suite for Swift’s concert in Germany
Travis Kelce is due back to Kansas City for Chiefs training camp in just a few days, but the superstar tight end had to wrap up his offseason by attending his 13th Taylor Swift concert.
Kelce, 34, was spotted at Gelsenkirchen’s Veltins Arena in Germany for the first of Swift’s three shows at the venue, marking his 13th time seeing the “Fortnight” singer in concert and matching the number of Kansas City Chiefs games Swift attended last season.
For Swift, 13 has long been her lucky number. In a years-old interview with MTV News, the Grammy-winner explained, “I was born on the 13th. I turned 13 on Friday the 13th. My first album went gold in 13 weeks. My first No. 1 song had a 13-second intro. Every time I’ve won an award I’ve been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter. Basically whenever a 13 comes up in my life, it’s a good thing.”
Kelce appeared to be in good spirits at the concert, as seen in photos and videos shared by concertgoers in Gelsenkirchen.
The tight end wore a green and black checkered shirt and a white baseball cap as he was spotted popping his head out from a private suite at the venue.
Swift will perform two more nights at the Veltins Arena before heading to Munich, Poland, Austria and England. She’ll perform in Europe through Aug. 20 before returning to the United States to prepare for the next leg of the tour.
Kelce, meanwhile, will report back to Kansas City for Chiefs training camp on Friday, July 19, as he and Patrick Mahomes get ready to defend their title as the NFL’s back-to-back champions.
Kelce’s 13th concert comes shortly after the tight end surprised fans by joining Swift on stage during her June 23 concert at Wembley Stadium in London.
Kelce stunned Swifties when he appeared in a tuxedo carrying Swift onstage during her “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” outfit change segment. He powdered Swift’s face and showed off some dance moves in his Eras Tour debut.
During an episode of his podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce after the big moment, the Chiefs star said it was “jarring” when he first appeared on stage with his girlfriend.
“When everyone found out that it was me — because it took a second for everyone to figure it out — that moment was pretty jarring. I was just like, ‘Oh s—’ ” he said. “And you don’t realize how big that damn stage is. It is easily as big as a football stadium … it’s way bigger than I could have ever imagined.”
“But no, it was awesome. And I didn’t disappoint Taylor, so that’s all that really matters,” Travis added.
