Angelina Jolie Brings Romance and Bold Glam to 2025 Critics Choice Awards in Sheer Lace Gown and Red Lip
The ‘Maria’ star, who is nominated for best actress, was all about contrast
Angelina Jolie is back on the carpet channeling bold glam.
The Oscar winner and mom of six, 49, continued her red carpet streak on Feb. 7, arriving at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards in an elegant nude-colored sheer lace gown from the Eli Saab Spring-Summer ’25 ready-to-wear collection.
Jolie’s look featured a low V-neckline, a cinched waistline, sleeves cut in a romantic silhouette and a pleated floor-hitting skirt hem.
Her dress may have ben understated, but her glam certainly was not, as it consisted of a bold vermillion lipstick shade that perfectly matched her nails. She kept her eye makeup smokey and earth-toned with black winged eyeliner. Meanwhile her hair was styled in loose waves with a subtle side bang.
Tonight, Jolie is vieing for the best actress Critics Choice Award for her role in Maria. In the category, she faces off against Cynthia Erivo for Wicked, Karla Sofía Gascón for Emilia Pérez, Marianne Jean-Baptiste for Hard Truths, Mikey Madison for Anora and Demi Moore for The Substance.
In Pablo Larraín’s Maria Callas biopic, which is now streaming on Netflix, Jolie stepped into the shoes of the opera legend, portraying the final chapter of the singer’s life in Paris leading up to her death in 1977.
The Girl, Interrupted actress’ night out at the Critics Choice Awards comes shortly after she finalized her divorce with ex-husband Brad Pitt on Dec. 30, eight years after they first split. Jolie shares six children with Pitt: Maddox, 23 Pax, 21, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.
Jolie’s latest awards show appearance also comes just a week after she brought daughter Zahara as her date to the 2025 Golden Globes — which was also a family affair for several other stars in attendance.
On Sunday, Jan. 5, the Maleficent actress sparkled at the Los Angeles awards show in a beaded, floor-length Alexander McQueen gown, which featured sheer panels — plus, all-over beads and crystals.
Zahara, meanwhile, stood by her side — and coordinated with her mom’s color scheme — in a whimsical yet elegant white gown with a stunning, black, tree-inspired graphic. The 19-year-old wore her long hair in an updo, while her mom opted for an elegant half-up, half-down style.
At the Globes, Jolie was nominated for best performance by a female actor in a motion picture – drama for Maria. (The award went to Fernanda Torres for I’m Still Here.)
Jolie also brought Zahara as her date to another event this awards season, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, where the actress was honored with the Desert Palm Achievement Award on Friday, Jan. 3.
The mother-daughter duo also opted for a black-and-white color scheme at the California film festival, with Jolie rocking a silky black halter gown and her daughter wearing another white dress, this time an A-line gown with lace detailing and white fabric flowing down one shoulder.

Jolie has also brought her children, all of whom tend to keep low public profiles, as dates to many events throughout the years.
She brought son Knox to the 2024 Governors Awards in L.A. last November and, earlier that year, attended the opening night of The Outsiders with her youngest daughter, Vivienne. (The then 15-year-old had a producer credit on the play, along with her mom.)
And, in October 2021, the star also famously brought five of her six kids — only Pax was absent from — to the Eternals premieres in London and Los Angeles, where Zahara and Shiloh also sweetly donned dresses once worn by their mom on the red carpet.
