Eva Mendes has a furry addition to her family!
The actress, 50, posted a sweet video of herself and her new dog, Magic, getting ready for a photoshoot on Instagram on Monday, Nov. 25.
“Meet the newest member of our family … Magic!!!” she wrote in the post’s caption.
Mendes shared that Magic was adopted from California Doodle Rescues, a non-profit organization that rescues, fosters and finds homes for mixed breed poodles.
The organization also advocates for humane sheltering, quality veterinary treatment and educating the general public about caring for dogs, according to its website.
“More to come…I’m crazy about her and excited to share life with Magic
with you. ❤️,” Mendes concluded the post.

Mendes spoke exclusively to PEOPLE earlier this year about her life at 50. She didn’t expect to have children or a family — “locked down,” she said, but she’s glad that “a certain man came into my life and made me change my mind about all that stuff.”
The actress hinted in 2022 that she and her longtime partner Ryan Gosling were married when fans noticed a tattoo that read “de Gosling”, which could be indicative of a “Mrs. Gosling” title. She also referred to Gosling as her “husband” that year. The couple have been together since 2011 and share two daughters — Esmeralda Amada, 10, and Amada Lee, 8.
Mendes stepped away from Hollywood a decade ago to focus on her family, with 2014’s Lost River being her most recent film. She told PEOPLE in May that it was “the easiest decision” she’s ever made.
“All those years are just so formative,” Mendes added. “I wanted to be there for all of it.”
